Taipa’s sports stadium to gain multi‑purpose facility (Não é um dos quatro)

 nov25 Taipa’s Olympic Sports Centre Stadium is on course to be fitted with a new multi‑purpose facility, with a plan to repurpose its car park. The redevelopment plan was unveiled by Secretary for Social Affairs and Culture O Lam on Friday as she exchanged ideas with legislators about her 2026 action plan. O told the Legislative Assembly session that this new addition would be used mainly for trending or emerging sports. This plan is part of a drive by Macau authorities to encourage mass participation in sports. According to the Public Works Bureau, at least three major undertakings are afoot. The former Canidrome racetrack is currently being transformed into a 40,425‑square‑metre sporting park. This park consists of four sections and an oval track. This project has so far seen MOP1.37 billion (US$170 million) spent.  nov25 Macau’s Secretary for Social Affairs and Culture, O Lam, on Friday outlined an expanded policy blueprint for 2026, promising stronger social protections, deeper investment in youth and talent development, and highlighting the importance of the four flagship construction projects recently announced. O Lam said the coming year would be “crucial” as Macau aligns its development with China’s 15th Five-Year Plan and steps up efforts to diversify its casino-dependent economy. Her bureau, she added, would work to build a Macau that is “dynamic, cultural and happy,” closely following national strategies and the priorities set by Chief Executive Ho Iat Seng. Gov’t-led tech park taps Beijing research institute for planning

As reported by Jornal Cheng Pou, Beijing Industrial Designing & Researching Institute Co., Ltd. has received a design contract worth over MOP197 million (US$24.35 million) from the Economic and Technological Development Bureau. In March this year, as revealed by legislators Song Pek Kei and Ngan Iek Hang, members of a Legislative Assembly panel on affairs relating to public money, a new item was added to government investment plans. It was relating to a design plan for the industrial park valued at MOP210 million. fev26 17 Feb 2026 Macau to launch tech industry centre in Q2: Tai By  Tony Lai The Macau International Science and Technology Industry Centre, a pilot project under the city’s broader push to diversify its economy, is set to become operational in the second quarter of 2026, according to Secretary for Economy and Finance Tai Kin Ip. Tai made the announcement on Tuesday in a pre-recorded Chinese New Year message broadcast by public broadcaster TDM. “As a pioneering project, the Macau International Science and Technology Industry Centre is scheduled to commence operations in the second quarter of this year. Investment promotion efforts are progressing smoothly,” Tai said. The centre, covering about 2,000 square metres, will be housed at the former Macau Young Entrepreneur Incubation Centre in the NAPE district.
